About this map

Cache National Forest encompasses much of this high-elevation landscape, where the borders of Morgan, Rich, and Summit counties converge. The terrain is defined by a dense network of drainages and prominent topographic landmarks like Trail Ridge, which dominates the northern portion of the sheet. Water management and drainage patterns are central to the area's layout, anchored by the Lost Creek Reservoir and its connection to Lost Creek. Numerous family-named or descriptive hollows, such as Doc Dorlands Hollow, Fawn Hollow, and Pasture Hollow, illustrate the historical use of these canyons for grazing and movement through the mountains. Small-scale industrial activity is evidenced by a Borrow Pit and several drill holes, while the presence of Gilberts Pond along Francis Canyon suggests localized water storage in this arid mountain environment.
