Garden Valley dominates the northern landscape of this Eureka County region, where the broad basin floor meets the rising elevations of the Roberts Mountains to the west and the Sulphur Spring Range to the east. The geography is defined by intermittent drainage and critical water sources essential for life in the high desert, including Rabbit Spring and McCloud Spring. The central drainage of Henderson Cr flows north through the valley, passing near the settlement area of Pine Field. This 2021 survey illustrates a classic Basin and Range configuration, where State Route 278 provides the primary north-south transit corridor along the valley floor, connecting the isolated drainages of Frazier Cr with the wider ranching and mining terrain of central Nevada.
