The Continental Divide carves a jagged path through this high-altitude section of the Wind River Range, marking the boundary between Shoshone National Forest and Bridger National Forest. Notable summits including Fremont Peak and Harrower Peak tower over glacial features like the Harrower Glacier and the Knife Point Mtn. The landscape is defined by its complex hydrology, where drainage basins like Bald Mountain Basin and Indian Basin feed into networks of alpine water bodies. The Continental Divide National Scenic Trail winds along these heights, connecting Indian Pass and Angel Pass while passing through some of the most prominent granite formations in the region, including The Fortress and Elephant Head. Long-established routes like the Highline trail and the Cook Lake Loop provide access to remote waters such as Cook Lakes and Spider Lake.
