About this map

The Chocolate Mountains dominate the eastern half of this landscape, where the rugged terrain transitions into the Aerial Gunnery Range. Along the mountain slopes, evidence of industrial activity is marked by a Mining Railroad and several quarries. To the west, the arid desert floor is transformed by water management infrastructure, most notably the Coachella Canal which is supported by a series of siphons and a protective Levee system.
