North Star Peak and San Juan Hill define the high elevations of the Little Rincon Mountains in this modern topographical study of the Arizona desert. The landscape is a complex network of seasonal drainages, including Martinez Wash, Pacheco Wash, and Ash Creek, which provide vital water sources in a semi-arid environment. Human presence is marked by ranching and conservation boundaries, with the Saguaro National Park and Coronado National Forest bordering the Pima and Cochise county line. Several remote water points such as Canoa Spring, Alboyd Spring, and Rock Pile Tank are scattered across the terrain, indicating the historical importance of localized water management for livestock. The southeastern corner features the eponymous Galleta Flat near Cornfield Canyon, while the local road network, including Mescal Rd and S Salcido Ranch Rd, provides access to these isolated pastures and peaks.
