The Dolores River carves a deep path through this section of Mesa County, meeting the mouth of the spectacular Unaweep Canyon. This 2019 survey documents a landscape of dramatic elevation changes, dominated by massive landforms like The Palisade and Tenderfoot Mesa. While much of the eastern portion of the map is protected within the Uncompahgre National Forest, the river corridor itself shows signs of localized infrastructure, including Hubbard Airport and the private Hendricks Field at West Creek Ranch.
