Govan sits at the heart of this landscape in the Big Bend country of Eastern Washington, where the high prairie is carved by a network of drainage channels and ephemeral water bodies. The terrain is defined by its basalt-rimmed coulee features and seasonal lakes, including Hole in the Wall Lake and Nicholson Lake. In the northern section, Rattlesnake Gulch cuts toward the higher ground near Bender Lake and Jarchow Lake.
