Grafton serves as the central hub of this North Central Iowa landscape, situated at the intersection of a rigid section-line road grid. The settlement of Grafton is surrounded by fertile agricultural lands, where the terrain is gently drained by several small watercourses, including Rock Falls Cr and Rock Cr. To the northwest, the small community of Bolan sits along Co RD a38, while the southern edge of the survey reaches the town of Plymouth in Cerro Gordo County.
