About this map

Glacial ice and volcanic summits dominate this high-elevation portion of the Wrangell Mountains. The landscape is defined by massive ice flows including Sanford Glacier in the north and Long Glacier to the south. Central to this topographic study is the active volcanic mass of Mt Wrangell, with North Crater and the nearby peak of Mt Zanetti marking the high ridges. This area is entirely contained within federally protected lands, spanning the Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park, the Wrangell-St Elias Wilderness, and the Wrangell-Saint Elias National Preserve. The intricate contour lines reveal the complex movement of the Dadina Glacier, Chetaslina Glacier, and Chichokna Glacier as they descend from the mountain's frozen heights.
