1968 Map of Hannover NW

USGS Topo · Published 1969

About this map

Kinneman Creek and Brady Creek wind through this prairie landscape on the border of Mercer and Oliver counties during the late 1960s. The area is defined by a sparse network of section-line roads and isolated landmarks of rural life, most notably the Pleasant Valley Sch No 1 and a small Cemetery. This topographic record, produced by the USGS in cooperation with the State of North Dakota Water Commission under the direction of Governor William L. Guy, reflects a highly surveyed agricultural environment where even the locations of a Radio Tower and a Gravel Pit are documented. The southern portion of the map is dominated by the meandering course of Square Butte Creek, showing the drainage patterns essential to this high plains region.
