Harold and the surrounding pine woods of Santa Rosa County are defined by the winding course of the Blackwater River, which moves through a landscape of distinctive water features and local landmarks. This area includes the northern reaches of Blackwater River State Park, where the river is joined by numerous tributaries such as Big Coldwater Creek, Big Juniper Creek, and Bucket Branch. The terrain transitions from the low-lying Cooper Basin and Clear Basin to elevated points like High Bluff.
