Toppenish Ridge dominates the southern landscape of this Yakima County quadrangle, rising sharply above the fertile lowlands of the Yakima Valley. The area is defined by a sophisticated network of agricultural water management, evidenced by the W Island Lateral, E Island Lateral, and the Harrah Drain Rd which follows its namesake waterway. These irrigation features support the rural farmsteads and grid-based road system that crisscross the valley floor.
