About this map

San Ildefonso Pueblo Grant and the neighboring Pojoaque Pueblo Grant define the northern reaches of this New Mexican landscape, where the high desert is carved by seasonal watercourses. The 1951 aerial surveys, later updated in the 1990s, reveal a region of intersecting land grants and historical boundaries, including the Jacona Grant and the Tesuque Pueblo Grant. Settlement is concentrated near the Rio Tesuque at Cuyamungue, while the western portion of the map is dominated by the heights of the Caja del Rio Plateau within the Santa Fe National Forest.
