1986 Map of Hot Well

USGS Topo · Published 1987

About this map

Whitlock Valley and the high desert terrain of southeastern Arizona are captured here in the mid-1980s, defined by a landscape of rugged canyons and seasonal watercourses. The Gila River cuts through the northern reaches of the quadrangle, paralleled by the vital transportation corridor of the Southern Pacific railroad. This area, straddling the boundary between Greenlee and Graham counties, shows a clear transition from the river valley into the broken terrain of Woods Canyon and Blackfield Canyon.
