Fannegusha Creek and Black Creek wind through the northwest corner of this Holmes County landscape, where the flatlands meet the rising timber and creek-bottoms of central Mississippi. Small rural hubs such as Howard, Blissdale, and Tolarville are connected by a network of winding roads like Thornton Tolarville Rd and Howard Rd. The terrain is deeply carved by the drainage systems of Harland Creek and Moccasin Cr, which create a complex series of ridges and hollows.
