Knifeblade Ridge dominates the southern landscape of this North Slope interior, rising as a prominent topographic spine above the surrounding tundra. In the northwest corner, the Kigalik River meanders across the plain, marking one of the few named watercourses in this high-latitude terrain. This 2016 survey by the U.S. Geological Survey provides an intricate look at the land's elevation and drainage patterns across several townships, including t3s r13w and t3s r12w. The map illustrates the characteristic isolation of the Alaskan Arctic, where the natural contours and hydrology of the North Slope Borough remain the primary features of the land, largely undisturbed by permanent settlements or commercial infrastructure.
