Four Craters Lava Field dominates the southern reaches of this high desert landscape, illustrating the volcanic foundations of the Oregon interior. The topography is defined by prominent elevations such as Twin Buttes in the northwest and the rising slopes of Green Mtn and East Green Mtn to the south. This area, managed through township and range divisions like t24s r17e, represents a classic section of the Great Basin's drainage-scarce terrain where water resources are confined to features like Coyote Hole Reservoir and Walker Creek. The network of backroads, including Millican Rd and Sink Ln, provides access to these isolated landmarks. One of the more unique geologic features, the Ice Cave Pothole, highlights the subterranean potential of the volcanic rock layers in this region.
