Jamestown and the nearby community of Allardt occupy a high plateau in Fentress County, defined by a complex network of hollows and spurs. To the west, the terrain drops sharply into deep incisions such as Rockcastle Cove, Buffalo Cove, and Poplar Cove, where smaller watercourses like Rockcastle Cr and Poplar Cove Cr begin their descent from the highland. This modern survey shows the integration of older family landmarks and agricultural history with the contemporary landscape, evidenced by numerous burial grounds including the Jamestown City Cem, Livingston Cem, and the George Wood Family Cem near Campbell Hollow.
