The vast wetland and timber landscapes of northern Koochiching County dominate this recent topographic study. The drainage of Reilly Cr cuts across the western portion of the terrain, while the rest of the landscape is defined by the dense network of swamps and marshes characteristic of the region. A series of remote access routes, including Nelson Rd, River Rd, and the descriptively named Cut Across Forest Rd, provide the only significant infrastructure through the townships of T65N R26W and T65N R25W. This map records the minimal human footprint in a region preserved for its natural hydrology and forest resources near the Canadian border.
