Juniper Hot Springs serves as the focal point of this Moffat County terrain, where thermal waters emerge near the banks of the winding Yampa River. The landscape is defined by the transition from the heights of Little Juniper Mountain in the northwest down into the broad Axial Basin to the south. A network of county roads, including Co Road 53 and Co Road 17, provides access to the scattered gulches and flats that characterize this part of the Colorado backcountry.
