The Loxahatchee River system and the Intracoastal Waterway define the geography of this northern Palm Beach County landscape. From the confluence of the North Fork Loxahatchee River and Southwest Fork Loxahatchee River, the water flows past Tequesta and Jupiter toward the Jupiter Inlet. This modern survey illustrates the high density of coastal development, including the specialized enclaves of Jupiter Inlet Colony and Jupiter Inlet Beach Colony tucked between the Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean.
