Lake Alan Henry dominates this portion of the Texas landscape, its sprawling dendritic fingers reaching into the surrounding drainages of Garza Co and Kent Co. The reservoir is fed by the Double Mountain Fork Brazos River, which enters from the northwest and continues its course to the east. The terrain is defined by its drainage network, including Kildugan Cr, S Sage Cr, and Grape Cr, which carve through the plains to meet the main waterway.
