Interior Alaska's upland wilderness is defined by the intersection of four major township boundaries in this 2015 study. The terrain is centered on the divide between T7n R1e, T7n R2e, T6n R1e, and T6n R2e, showing a landscape of high ridges and drainage basins as they were mapped at the start of the twenty-first century. While no named settlements or infrastructure appear within these specific sections, the contour data reflects the natural topography of the Kateel River region as surveyed by the U.S. Geological Survey and the BLM. It serves as a primary record of the Public Land Survey System boundaries in a remote portion of the Yukon-Koyukuk region.
