Keaton Beach and Dekle Beach anchor this coastal reach of Taylor County, where the marshy edges of the Gulf of Mexico meet a network of tidal creeks and coastal hammocks. The landscape is defined by its saturation, with numerous islands such as Dark Island, Jack Lee Island, and Cedar Island scattered among the inlets. Inland, the terrain transitions into a complex of wetlands including Minom Sog, Stanley Sog, and Coker Sog, which feed into Blue Creek and Fish Creek.
