Keldron sits at the heart of this landscape, positioned along a primary east-west road corridor just south of the North Dakota South Dakota state line. This 2017 survey reveals the distinct transition between the protected prairie of the Cedar River National Grassland to the north and the organized grid of agricultural sections to the south. The terrain is defined by the subtle drainage of Hay Cr, which winds through the central township before reaching Morristown Lake in the southeast. A network of section-line roads, including 99th St and 104th St, provides access to the expansive rangelands. The map illustrates the sparsely populated nature of the Sioux and Corson County border region, where large-scale land management and natural water features dictate the pattern of human settlement.
