Kisatchie National Forest defines the northern reaches of this landscape, where the borders of Sabine, Natchitoches, and Vernon Parishes meet. The area is characterized by a dense network of watercourses, including Little Kisatchie Bayou and Comrade Cr, which drain the timbered uplands. Small settlements like Kurthwood, Fisherville, Alco, and Dusenbury dot the eastern side of the quadrangle, connected by local routes such as the Craigerville Loop and Whitman Rd.
