1967 Map of Lemay Island

USGS Topo · Published 1972

About this map

Lemay Island rises distinctly above the surrounding desert floor in this 1967 survey of the Great Salt Lake Desert region. The landscape is defined by the drainage patterns of Grouse Creek, which flows southward from the Pigeon Mountains before disappearing into the Grouse Creek Sinks. This hydrologic feature illustrates the terminal nature of the basin, where seasonal waters eventually reach the expansive Alkali or Mud flats to the south.
