Litchfield sits at the northern edge of this prairie landscape, where the town grid transitions into a dense network of glacial lakes and agricultural homesteads. The area's spiritual and community history is anchored by numerous rural burial sites and congregations, including the Beckville Lutheran Cem at the settlement of Beckville and the Bethania Church Cem further south. These sites, along with the Swedish Baptist Cem, reflect the Scandinavian heritage common to Meeker County's early township development.
