Nashville Plantation and Garfield Plantation anchor this mid-1980s look at the wooded townships of central Aroostook County. The landscape is defined by its complex drainage network, where the Little Machias River feeds into Little Machias Lake at the eastern edge of the quadrangle. High ridges divide the numerous watercourses, including the north-flowing Sterling Brook and the southern Greenlaw Stream.
