1955 Map of Loma Prieta

USGS Topo · Published 1975

About this map

The San Andreas Rift Zone cuts a distinct path through these high reaches of the Santa Cruz Mountains, where the peak of Loma Prieta serves as a dominant landmark. At the time of this 1955 field check, the ridge lines were already established as communication hubs, marked by a Microwave Relay Sta and a Television Relay Sta. The terrain transitions from the steep canyons of the Sierra Azul down toward the managed waters of the Uvas Creek and Llagas Creek drainage basins.
