Sevier Lake dominates the eastern half of this Millard County landscape, appearing here as a dry or ephemeral basin typical of the Great Basin's terminal sinks. The western terrain is defined by the steep, surveyed contours of the Long Ridge, where access is limited to primitive routes like Miller Canyon Rd and the 3C Rd. The intersection of the arid lakebed and the rising slopes is marked by several water management features, including the Mud Flat Reservoir, Sevier Lake Reservoir Number 1, and the Miller Canyon Reservoir. These small impoundments suggest the critical importance of capturing seasonal runoff from the Sevier River system to support the livestock and land use of this isolated Utah interior.
