Fremont National Forest dominates the northern and eastern reaches of this landscape, where the high ground of Goodlow Mtn and Goodlow Rim overlooks a complex network of water management. The transition from the timbered uplands to the agricultural basin is marked by an extensive system of man-made waterways, including the North Canal, East Canal, and the High Line Ditch. These channels feed into the Lost River, which meanders through the central valley toward the small settlement of Lorella.
