The expansive wetlands and high-altitude waters of the Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge dominate this part of the Centennial Valley. The landscape is a complex hydrologic network where Lower Red Rock Lake and Upper Red Rock Lake are fed by numerous mountain drainages, including Odell Creek, Red Rock Creek, and Tepee Creek. To the north, the terrain rises sharply toward Patchtop Mtn and Landon Ridge within the Beaverhead National Forest.
