Thunder Basin National Grassland dominates this portion of the Powder River Basin, where the landscape is defined by a network of intermittent watercourses and technical grazing infrastructure. In the early 21st century, this area along the Campbell and Converse County line remains characterized by its drainage systems, including Macken Draw, Buck Draw, and Moyer Draw. The terrain is sparsely settled, focusing on water management for livestock as evidenced by the Jenson Number Reservoir. To the north, Ninemile Cr and Antelope Cr carve through the high plains, while the southern reaches are marked by the confluence of Sand Cr and the aptly named Stinking Water Cr. This survey illustrates the traditional ranching and public land management patterns that continue to shape the northeastern Wyoming interior.
