Malad Valley serves as a central corridor for water and transportation in this high-plains landscape of southern Idaho. The Malad River and Little Malad River converge here, feeding several local irrigation and water storage sites including the Saint Johns Reservoir and Upper Pleasantview Reservoir. The settlement pattern is defined by small agricultural clusters and water sources, such as the Pleasantview Warm Springs and the northern reach of Big Malad Spring.
