About this map

The Raisin River flows through the heart of Manchester, where it passes Carr Park and the local Sew Disp facility. During this era in the early 1980s, the surrounding Washtenaw County landscape is a mix of agricultural fields and rolling glacial terrain, including the Sharon Short Hills and the lowlands of Sharon Valley. An Old Railroad Grade traces a path through the southern part of the township, marking the legacy of former rail lines. To the north, the Sharon Hollow River is controlled by a spillway, creating a distinct water feature near the Sharon Hollow Cem. Scattered throughout the rural sections are vital community landmarks such as Sharon Ch, North Sharon Sch, and several active resource sites like the Walker Sandpits and various Quarries. Small private airfields, including the Mynning Landing Strip, dot the periphery of the village.
