The settlement of Maryneal occupies the northern edge of this Nolan County landscape, centered around Locust St and the intersection of FM 608. To the west, the Maryneal Cem serves as a primary point of interest for genealogists tracing local families in this portion of the Texas plains. The terrain south of the townsite is defined by a dense network of seasonal drainages that carve through the elevation. Watercourses such as Wilson Creek and Eagle Creek flow generally eastward, while Gus Russell Creek and Brushy Robertson Creek dominate the northeastern corner of the quadrangle. This area's infrastructure is largely comprised of a grid of county roads, including Co RD 181 and Co RD 238, which connect remote ranching or agricultural tracts to the central hub at Maryneal.
