Nabesna River flows through the northwestern corner of this territory, marking a rare break in the high-elevation glacial landscape. This 2017 survey documents the transition between the Wrangell-Saint Elias National Preserve and the Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park, which are separated by a precise horizontal boundary line across the southern reach. The terrain is dominated by ice and elevation, evidenced by the presence of the Chisana Glacier in the northeast and the Nizina Glacier to the south. These features illustrate the dramatic glacial systems that define this remote section of the Unorganized Borough, where ice flows and river headwaters dictate the character of the land.
