Meade River snakes through the low-lying Arctic coastal plain in this contemporary topographical view of the North Slope. The landscape is defined by an intricate network of thaw lakes and ponds, typical of the permafrost-rich terrain within the t11n r21w and t11n r20w townships. The Usuktuk River also crosses the northern portion of the quadrangle, joining a vast hydrological system of seasonal wetlands and drainage basins. This modern survey reflects the enduring and uninhabited character of the region, where natural watercourses and glacial features remain the primary landmarks across the expansive tundra environment.
