Graveyard Creek and its namesake Graveyard Creek Rd define the drainage patterns of this Montana landscape along the jurisdictional boundary of Rosebud Co Custer Co. The terrain is marked by significant topographical relief, most notably at Horton Hollow in the eastern portion of the survey. Numerous watercourses including Iron Jaw Creek, Buffalo Creek, Coal Creek, and Hay Creek indicate a region of complex hydrology and seasonal runoff. The township and range divisions, such as t5n r44e and t5n r45e, provide the underlying grid for land management in this rural area of Rosebud and Custer counties. This 2014 survey documents the existing road and water network in a part of the state characterized by its open spaces and sparse infrastructure.
