Minersville Reservoir dominates this high-desert landscape in Iron County, created by the Rocky Ford Dam where the Beaver River is impounded. The terrain is defined by the proximity of the Mineral Mountains and the Black Mountains, which flank the valley. Traces of historical industry and local geography are scattered across the quadrangle, from the high Blue Ribbon Summit and its associated Blue Ribbon Mine to the lower elevation Goules Mine.
