Selway River and Clearwater River converge in this backcountry region of north-central Idaho, where the landscape is defined by the steep drainage basins of the Nezperce National Forest. The 1966 field survey, updated with 1982 aerial photography, documents a wilderness environment accessible primarily by a network of pack trails, including the Pinchot Trail and Sixtytwo Trail.
