Mitten Lake and Horn Lake lie at the heart of this Montana landscape, where the high plains transition into the dramatic rising slopes of the Sawtooth Range. The boundary between Glacier Co and Pondera Co bisects the terrain, while the southern portion of the sheet is dominated by the protected acreage of the Lewis & Clark National Forest. This area is defined by its drainage systems, with Badger Creek and Little Badger Cr carving through the northern coulees.
