Barney Hot Springs and Moffett Springs sit at the base of the Lemhi Range, where the high alpine terrain of the Challis National Forest meets the wide expanse of the Little Lost River Valley. This modern survey documents the intricate drainage systems and recreational access points along the border of Custer and Lemhi counties. To the south, the Donkey Hills overlook the Mud Flats, while the north is defined by steep ridges like Bear Mtn and remote water features such as Horse Lake. A complex network of backcountry routes, including the Snow Bank Trl and Big Gulch Trl, provides access to these high elevations from the valley floor and Pahsimeroi Rd.
