Marmaduke and the eastern agricultural plains of Greene County define this landscape along the Arkansas-Missouri border. The area is characterized by an extensive network of drainage channels, including the Big Slough Ditch and Hurricane Ditch, which converted former wetlands into a productive agricultural grid. These waterways dominate the eastern half of the quadrangle near the settlement of Leonard.
