Mount Olson and the prominent heights of O'Neil Peak anchor this high-elevation landscape in the Olympic Peninsula's interior. This 2011 survey by the U.S. Geological Survey and U.S. Forest Service documents a complex network of glacial and alpine water systems, where the headwaters of the Quinault River flow toward the northwest while the North Fork Skokomish River and South Fork Skokomish River drain the southern and eastern slopes.
