Kings Canyon National Park and Inyo National Forest meet at the crest of the Sierra Nevada on this 2021 study. The landscape is dominated by high-altitude terrain, including the jagged peaks of Mt Pinchot, Vennacher Needle, and Mt Ruskin. A central artery for travel through this wilderness is the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trl, which winds through the Upper Basin and crosses over Pinchot Pass. Numerous glacial basins hold prominent water bodies such as Bench Lake, Lake Marjorie, and Woods Lake. This survey illustrates the intricate drainage patterns of the Kings Wild and Scenic River system, where the White Fork and Cartridge Cr descend through steep cirques. The presence of routes like the Muro Blanco Trl and Taboose Pass Trl shows the network of primitive paths connecting the eastern and western slopes.
