Wrangell Mountains dominate this high-altitude landscape within the Copper River Census Area. The terrain is defined by complex glacial and volcanic formations, protected within a vast conservation network including the Wrangell-St. Elias Wilderness and the Wrangell-Saint Elias National Preserve. These remote interior lands are largely devoid of modern development, instead showing the natural drainage patterns of Jacksina Creek as it flows through the northern reaches of the quadrangle. Bordering the southern edge is the Wrangell-Saint Elias National Park, representing one of the most significant wilderness areas in the United States. This survey provides a precise modern look at the topographic contours and hydrography of the region's high peaks and valleys.
