Wrangell-Saint Elias National Preserve occupies the southern reaches of this topographic landscape, marking a protected wilderness area in eastern Alaska. The terrain is defined by the braided drainage patterns of the Chisana River, which flows through the southeastern corner of the quadrangle. Further north, the smaller tributaries of Stuver Cr wind through the hills, illustrating the drainage network that feeds into the larger river systems of the region. The map is primarily characterized by its remote, high-latitude topography, with the Public Land Survey System grid providing the only human-imposed structure across the open reaches of T9N R20E and T10N R20E. This 2016 survey documents the untouched hydrography and elevation contours of a region where natural features remain the primary landmarks.
