Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and the adjacent Wrangell-St. Elias National Preserve meet in this landscape of high peaks and wetlands within the Unorganized Borough. The Mentasta Mountains dominate the northern terrain, where seasonal drainages like Caribou Cr and Rock Cr cut through the slopes. In the lower-lying south, a complex network of marshes surrounds Jack Lake and Twin Lakes.
